Friends of the Animal Shelter in Hancock County is a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded in early 2000 by a group of concerned citizens seeking to end euthanasia as a viable means of control for the pet overpopulation in Hancock County.
Since inception, FRIENDS has grown and developed programs, events, and educational opportunities to enhance the health and well being of the animals in Hancock County. With continued financial and volunteer support for such programs, the Waveland Animal Shelter has seen a substantial reduction in admissions and an increase in adoptions.
